Project Materials

Description

When we first became involved with the school, it had very few educational resources for its children. There were no laptops for the teachers and no toys for the youngest pupils. It is a school that does everything it can with almost nothing.

This project is not primarily dependent on financial contributions, but rather on goods and services provided by supporters. Most of the required materials can be donated or supplied directly through partnerships with generous donors and sponsors..

The financial resources needed are mainly related to transportation costs and possible import duties, in cases where materials cannot be carried as luggage during the foundation board’s visits to Kenya.

By focusing on material support and minimizing financial expenditure, the project remains accessible, efficient, and closely connected to the generosity of its donors.

Current status

This project was started June 2026.

CT: We currently have a commitment from an ICT company in Enschede that has offered to refurbish traded-in laptops, install the required software, and make them available for this project. This initiative helps provide the school with much-needed access to digital learning resources and technology, creating new educational opportunities for both teachers and students.

In September, the first three laptops were distributed to teachers. A further six laptops are scheduled for delivery by the end of February.

For primary school children: We received a private donation consisting of abacuses, pens, colouring books, coloured pencils, skipping ropes, wooden maths puzzles, and a large supply of bubble solution and bubble wands. These materials provide both educational and recreational opportunities for the children, supporting their learning, creativity, and development through play.

The first shipment was delivered in September 2026.

We are currently in contact with several Dutch schools that have expressed a strong interest in supporting this project. In addition to contributing to the school’s development, these partnerships provide an opportunity to help their own students understand that many of the things they take for granted are not available everywhere in the world.

Limitation: Due to high transportation costs and potential import duties, we kindly ask you to contact us before making a donation in goods to the school. It is very well possible that these costs may exceed the value of the donated goods.

Impact

The donated laptops provide teachers with access to digital tools for lesson planning, administration, and educational resources that had not been available to them until now.

The first shipment of materials for the pupils was gratefully received and put to immediate use. These educational resources, games, and creative materials support learning and help make school more enjoyable and engaging for the children.

The project has also generated strong interest from Dutch schools and private donors who would like to contribute. Beyond the materials themselves, these partnerships help create awareness and understanding between children growing up in very different circumstances.

We hope this growing network of supporters will provide the school with a steady flow of educational resources and opportunities in the years ahead..

Financial

At this moment the offered goods will be transported as luggage, by the founders to keep the costs limited.
